bird brain

in the nest

A word game with wings. You've already met the star — the parakeet flying around this page. In Bird Brain you fly through a hand-drawn forest, catch letters on the wing, and spell your way to a high score. Easy to flap, hard to put down.

Coming to iPhone.

statim

incubating

From the Latin: immediately.

A non-invasive take on task and time management. It has teeth — it just doesn't use them on you.

Coming to Mac and iPhone. More when it's ready.

about

hartsook is a small software studio in Los Angeles.

I make games and tools. What I care about is the part that never makes a feature list — how the animation settles, what the empty state says, whether the words read like a person wrote them.

I founded hartsook and named it after the street I grew up on. I like making things. The paperwork says Hartsook Street LLC.

The bird flying around this page is Tookie, inspired by the real one, who was my dad's — the last in a long line of animals he rescued during his life.
